Philippine Airlines 747-200B N741PR FSX | CLS 747-200 repaint

Repaint of a Philippine Airlines 747-2F6B for the payware CLS 747 HD. This was tested in FSX, but it should work in Prepar3D v1-3 (and v4-5 ports of this add-on).

The 747 was evidently popular among Asian carriers due its capability of handling intercontinental routes, with many airlines from the region utilizing them on their transpacific and European networks. With the popularity of their services to America increasing in the mid 1970's, Philippine Airlines ordered 4 747-200s in August 1978 and commenced operations with the type in January 1980 on their Manila-Honolulu-San Francisco service. Over the years, the size of their jumbo fleet gradually increased as they leased secondhand airframes from a handful of aircraft leasing companies. PAL's -200s were later retired in 2000 and replaced by 747-400s.

The basis for this repaint is N741PR, the first of 4 747-200s ordered brand new by Philippine Airlines. It was first flown on December 14, 1979 and delivered to PAL on December 21 that same year. It spent the entirety of its passenger-carrying career from 1980 to 1998 with its original owner before being sold to Atlas Air, who operated it as a 747-200SF under the registration N534MC. Its conversion into a freighter was documented in a Boeing promotional video (watch here on Youtube). The aircraft's last owner was Southern Air, who operated it as N761SA from 2007 to 2012 before storing it for scrap in the Mojave desert on September 3, 2012. As of November 2021, upcycled parts of the airframe are being sold as collectible tags from PlaneTags.
