FSX CLS 747-200 repaint: Lufthansa 747-200M D-ABYM "Schleswig-Holstein"

Download

Repaint of a 747-230BM in Lufthansa's 1970s livery for the payware CLS 747 HD. This was tested in FSX, but it should work in Prepar3D v1-3 (and v4-5 ports of this add-on).

Lufthansa was, and still continues to be, a key operator of the 747 throughout the aircraft's 50-year history. They became the first European airline to use the type when they received their first 747-100 in March 1970 and continue to fly the newer -400 and -8 variants as of March 2021 of writing, making them the airline that operated the 747 for the longest time with 51 years of service.

The aircraft depicted, D-ABYM "Schleswig-Holstein", was the 4th of 14 747-200 Combis operated by Lufthansa. Like many of its European competitors, Lufthansa opted to purchase 747 combis with increasing cargo loads on transatlantic and far eastern routes. It first flew on October 3, 1978 and served with the airline from October 1978 to November 2001. It was transported by boat and truck to the Technik Museum Speyer in 2002, where it resides today. This airframe is not to be confused with the later D-ABYM that currently flies with Lufthansa, which is a 747-8 delivered in 2014.
